This dataset was collected as part of a study exploring high school mathematics teachers’ perceptions and use of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching. ChatGPT was used as the artificial intelligence technology used in this study. The study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, guided by the Technology Acceptance Model 3 as a theoretical framework. Quantitative data were gathered through an online survey, in which structured Technology Acceptance Model 3 questionnaires were adapted and administered to examine participants' perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of artificial intelligence, as well as the determinants. The quantitative data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 26. Descriptive statistics was used to interpret the data.

Qualitative data were obtained through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews. Observations focused on how participants use artificial intelligence in their teaching, while the interviews provided deeper insights into their experiences and perspectives. All observations and interviews were recorded and subsequently transcribed for the dissertation. In order to open this data, Microsoft Excel, an MP4 video player, an audio player, and a portable document format reader will be needed.
