Analysing the role of green infrastructure incorporating traditional African vegetables in improving the Melusi youth community facilities

The data analysed the participants' needs, knowledge and willingness towards vegetable gardens and traditional African vegetables. It also analyses the availability and lack of open spaces in the informal settlement and its surroundings. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews where open ended questions was asked. The semi-structured interviews was held in focus groups at the Melusi Youth Development organisations and seven out of the eight Early Childhood Development centres located in Melusi. The findings showed that the participants have alot of interest in growing not only their own vegetables and TAVs but also starting a community garden. They have also show some basic level of knowledge for TAVs.
