Aspects that contribute to the formation of urban landscape identity, the impact of changes and public participation in urban renewal in Kisumu City, Kenya
The following instruments were used for data collection in the study:
Survey questionnaire - this was used to interview the residents in Kisumu City about the aspects that contribute to the landscape identity of the city, the aspects of public participation in the urban renewal project that was ongoing/completed and the effect of changes due to the urban renewal on the landscape identity of the city.
PEI interview schedule - it was used to interview purposively selected respondents on aspects contributing to landscape identity and overall image of Kisumu City. Respondents were also asked to comment on the effects of changes of ongoing and completed urban renewal project within the city.
Key informants' interview guide - this was used to get information from officials from County Government of Kisumu on what contribute to the landscape identity of Kisumu City, aspects of public participation involved in the renewal project and the effects of the changes on landscape identity due to the urban renewal projects.
