The purpose of the study was to determine the flow patterns of a service reservoir using physical experiments and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling. The results were used to make a conclusion regarding the mixing patterns inside the reservoir and a possible solution was developed to improve flow inside the reservoir. The results include the temperature variations in the reservoir from a physical experiment using temperature sensors and a data logger. The CFD model and the modelled temperature results are included.
