<p dir="ltr">The study was done in three phases, the phase one involved screening of carotid atherosclerosis among hypertensive patients from five hospitals in the country across all province aiming to identify the prevalence and the socio-economic characteristics of patient with atherosclerosis. In the phase one of the study, descriptive and inferential statistics were done logistic regression analysis were applied to identify potential socioeconomic factors linked to the carotid atherosclerosis among the targeted population. The second phase involved the scoping review of existing literature to identify available best practices. Eventually the contextualised screening tool was developed through a Delphi process that involve 33 experts from different geographical locations including Africa, and Europe and America. </p>
