The following data is from in-situ small-scale experiments and digital simulations used in assessing the efficacy of vertical greening systems, namely, green facades and living walls, in reducing heat stress exposure for informal settlement dwellings. Retrofitted vertical greening systems were applied in small-scale experiments to prototypical cubes to represent the effect that green facades and living walls have on the effects of indoor ambient temperature, relative humidity, and surface temperatures. These findings were then expanded and upscaled into digital simulations, applying the two vertical greening systems to a prototypical informal dwelling, assessing the effect of lowering the apparent temperature experienced in the dwelling.
