The datasets include an excel spreadsheet with all the raw data including the concentrations of cytokines ( IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TNF-α, IFN-γ and GM-CSF), platelet activation markers (sCD40L and RANTES), as well as identified matabolites. Tables also included paired analyses after six months of treatment and heatmaps visually present concentrations.

Samples were collected from efavirenz treatment experianced participants (at baseline), before treatment initiation, as well as six months after treatment initiation with a placebo, prophylactic co-trimoxazole or dolutegravir. Techniques used include nuclear magnetic resonance, bead-based suspention arrays and enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays. Participants had to be 18 years and older to be included in the study.
