This data intends to show the analysis of B73 inbred line maize plants grown at ambient (415 ppm CO2) and elevated CO2 levels (700 ppm) in separate Conviron growth chambers. Half of the plants in each chamber were inoculated with C. zeina and the remaining control plants mock-inoculated. Disease development and severity was assessed visually and molecularly via a qPCR assay, while the individual effects of CO2 enrichment on maize and fungal growth were also measured. Gas exchange parameters and other maize leaf properties, such as the stomatal density and sugar concentrations, were quantified and compared between the different treatments.
