The data emphasize the importance of optimizing the processing parameters of preparing dip-coated CuO films for photoelectrochemical (PEC) applications, before improving their photo-stability in electrolytes. Furthermore, enhancing the photo-stability of CuO films in electrolyte is paramount to their practical application in PEC water-splitting for hydrogen production.
