Exploring lecturers' experiences of facilitating higher education online programmes
The findings in this dataset are based on a qualitative case study that explored lecturers' experiences of facilitating fully online programmes in higher education. Data collection instruments included an online survey and an online interview. Eight participants who facilitate fully online programmes at one higher education institution were invited to participate in the study. Five of the eight participants consented to participate in the online interview. An online software called Qualtrics was used to do the analysis of the survey data and administer the online survey. Blackboard Collaborate was used to conduct the online interviews, and Otter.ai, an online transcription tool, was used to convert the recorded audio into transcripts. The results of the transcript analysis were manually analysed and categorised based on the eight elements of Anthony Picciano's theoretical framework, the Multimodal Model for Online Education, which served as foundation of the study.
