Grandparent headed families
This dataset is aiming to develop communication guidelines to support grandparent headed families regarding sexual and reproductive health. The study was conducted in two phases. Phase 1 followed a qualitative, descriptive phenomenological and contextual research design was employed. Individual interviews were conducted with nurses, grandparents and grandchildren for each individual participants to share their lived experience about sexual and reproductive health communication within the grandparent headed families. Interviews were conducted in the natural settings for nurses in the workplaces and for grandparent and grandchildren-interviews were conducted in their residential places. Giorgios's data analysis method was used. An independent coder was used to assist with coding of the raw data where essences and constituents of participants (nurses, grandparents and grandchildren) emerged.
In Phase 2, a Delphi technique was used for validation of the guidelines. Expert participants were used for validation of the draft guidelines. There were series of rounds that lead to the final guidelines.
