The dataset provided by Aquatico Scientific Laboratory includes various physical, chemical, and biological water quality parameters of each site selected along the Jukskei River, Hennops River, Crocodile River, Magalies River, Swartspruit, and Leeuspruit, which flow into Hartbeespoort Dam. It also includes water quality parameters for sites along the Pienaars River, Moreletaspruit, Hartbeesspruit, and Edendalespruit, which feed into Roodeplaat Dam. An upstream, midstream, and downstream site was selected along each river, where possible.

Sites along the Jukskei River were abbreviated as J1, J2, and J3, corresponding to upstream, midstream, and downstream locations, respectively. Similarly, sites along the Hennops and Crocodile Rivers were abbreviated as H1 to H3 and C1 to C3, respectively. Swartspruit sites were labeled S1 and S2. The Leeuspruit, Magalies River, and Hartbeespoort Dam wall were abbreviated as L1, M1, and DW, respectively.

Sites along the Pienaars River were abbreviated as P1, P2, and P3, corresponding to upstream, midstream, and downstream locations, respectively. Sites along the Moreletaspruit were labeled M01 and M02, while those along the Hartbeesspruit were labeled H01 to H05. The site along the Edendalespruit was labeled E1, and the small canal discharging from the Zeekoegat WWTW into Roodeplaat Dam was labeled ZK. The site at the Roodeplaat Dam wall was labeled RDW.
