Implementation of antiretroviral guidelines for vertical HIV transmission: insights from midwives in a private hospital in Gauteng

<p dir="ltr"><a href="" target="_blank">The aim of the study was to describe and explore the midwives' views on implementing the antiretroviral clinical guidelines to prevent vertical transmission of HIV in a private hospital within the Gauteng province.</a></p><p dir="ltr"><b>Methods:</b> A qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory design was employed to gain in-depth insights into the views and experiences of midwives. The study used purposive sampling to recruit 13 registered midwives from a private hospital in Gauteng province. Data were collected through face-to-face, semi-structured interviews, allowing participants to openly discuss their experiences with the implementation of antiretroviral (ART) clinical guidelines. Audio recordings were made with participants' permission to ensure accurate data capture. Thematic analysis was used to identify key patterns and themes from the data.</p><p dir="ltr">This dataset entails the summary of the transcripts derived from the interviews and the themes generated from the analysis.</p><h2><br></h2><p><br></p>
