The target population in this study was perioperative nurses working in the selected private hospital. The sample comprised of 10 perioperative nurses working in the operating theatre of the preferred private hospital. Table 3.1 summarises the demographic profile of the participants. The table below includes gender, ethnic group, years of experience and age. There are more females in the selected hospital theatre than males. Women are more likely to choose nursing than men as women are associated with being warm and nurturing as indicated by Kronberg, Bouret and Brett (2018:41). The black nurses with 6-10 years of experience made the largest group. Age group is evenly distributed with a higher number in the 31-35-year age group. Datasets also include main themes and categories that arose from an interview conducted in a private hospital with nurses as participans. The study's objective was to explore and describe the experiences of perioperative nurses regarding properative patients' visits in a selected private hospital.
