This study investigates the potential of three Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) – MOF-5, Cu-BTC, and Ir(III)CpCl@COMOC-4 – as electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction. Characterization techniques confirmed the successful synthesis of the MOFs with distinct morphologies and high surface areas, particularly Cu-BTC and MOF-5. Electrochemical analysis demonstrated CO2 reduction capabilities for all three MOFs, evidenced by a shift in redox peaks and increased currents in the presence of CO2. While further analysis using DEMS is needed to confirm the specific products, these findings suggest that these MOFs hold promise as promising candidates for environmentally friendly CO2 conversion technologies.
