Microaggressions and social cohesion in the City of Tshwane
The data entails responses to an existing and slightly adapted questionnaire, using the racial and ethnic microaggressions scale (REMS) which had been conducted in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. Items were added to also measure experience of social cohesion. Open ended questions added to the instrument, provided respondents' views on diversity initiatives, what the instument aimed to measure, as well as perceptions of microaggressions in the municipality. A concurrent/embedded mixed method approach was followed. Quantitative data was analysed using IBM SPSS Amos v27, which is a statistical structural equation modelling (SEM) programme used to test relationships between observed and latent variables. Open ended questions were analysed by means of a themantic analysis.
