<p dir="ltr">The aim of this study was to explore and describe midwives’ perspectives of their involvement in optimising care for vertical transmission prevention among pregnant women living with HIV at a selected hospital in the Tshwane Municipality. A Qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive research design was followed in this study. The population comprised 15 midwives who provided care for pregnant women living with HIV in an academic hospital in the Tshwane Municipality. The participants were selected purposefully. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic analysis approach. Measures of trustworthiness were maintained throughout the study. Themes were derived from the data analysis.</p>
