Mothers' experiences of babies with gastoschisis who are admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Dataset for a study about barriers and enablers experienced by mothers in the Neonatal Intensive Care of their babies with gastroschisis. The study was conducted in three different hospitals where the gastroschisis babies were admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The researcher used qualitative research methodology to conduct this study and employed explorative and descriptive research design. Data collection was done through individual semi-structured interviews. 11 mothers were approached and requested to participate in the study. Data collection only commenced after the mothers had given consent for the interviews. The interviews were recorded using an audio tape. The researcher transcribed the recordings from an audio tape and themes were developed. The data was then analyzed using content analysis. The findings of this study are summarized in the uploaded table of themes.
