dataset

This is dataset for highveld and Mahali mole-rat groups and individuals caught in semi-natural habitats; the National Pretoria Botanical Gardens, and communal lands, near Brits from 2019 to 2021. The dataset includes 40-year climate data, demographic, group size, group biomass data, body mass, life history, and molecular data from repeated measures. Besides individual density, the demographic data includes sex ratios. The life-history data include sex, age group, and reproductive status, whereas the molecular data include Fst and genetic relatedness. Genetic data comes from microsatellites in the DNA obtained from small skin samples. Additionally group dynamics, the change of group size through emigration, immigration and births were estimated and included data on sex ratio and body mass of dispersers.
