Parent's perceptions on barriers and facilitators of extracted communication studies

A qualitative meta-synthesis approach was used for this scoping review. A multi-faceted approach was used to identify studies that met the inclusion criteria. The 14 studies that met these criteria were critically evaluated using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist.

Barriers and facilitators as reported in the studies by parents  were mapped onto the Participation Model. The barriers and facilitators were mapped as either opportunity or access barriers or facilitators opportunity barriers or facilitators were mapped as attitude, knowledge, skills, practice and policy barriers and facilitators. Access barriers and facilitators were mapped as physical/motor, cognitive, literacy and visual/auditory access barriers or facilitators.
