This dataset contains results from batch, isotherm, and column tests conducted to evaluate the performance of various commercial ion exchange resins in selectively removing iron from vanadium electrolyte solutions. The study examined four resins—Puromet MTS9570, MTX7010, MTC1600H, and MTS9500—under controlled laboratory conditions using a synthetic vanadium electrolyte with a fixed iron concentration. Batch tests assessed iron removal efficiency and vanadium retention; isotherm experiments at 25°C and 40°C were used to model adsorption behaviour and resin loading capacity; and fixed-bed column experiments simulated continuous operation at different flow rates. The dataset includes raw and processed values such as metal concentrations, loading capacities, selectivity factors, breakthrough curves, and column sizing parameters, offering insights into resin performance for potential scale-up in vanadium redox flow battery electrolyte purification.
