Data for a qualitative approach. The study followed the Social Constructivist Theory (SCT) with the aim of sourcing out practitioners’ views and perceptions on Play-Based Pedagogy (PBP) and how they implement it during teaching and learning. Semi-structured interviews and lesson observations were used to collect data. Participants were selected according to their teaching experience in the Early Childhood Development Centres (ECDCs). The researcher needed to find out the perceptions of practitioners on PBP and its impact on the holistic development of young children. The study was conducted in the Mpumalanga Province. For this study five (5) centres were selected.
