Reason: Reason for embargo includes allowing the publication first before other researchers get access to my data. To be able to obtain a DOI and see the description of the dataset that I will provide which will then be open to the public in 2 years from now.

The dataset was collected with the utilisation of a quantitative approach and as such, the Annual National Assessments were utilised to test the Grade 4 Sesotho home language learners reading and listening comprehension. The dataset includes reading and listening comprehension test scores of Grade 4 Sesotho home language learners recorded as percentages. The scores simply show how learners performed in both their reading and listening comprehension tests; and their performance amongst them and the two tests can be compared. The dataset clearly shows the number of girls and boys that participated in two schools that were chosen by the researcher. The dataset was collected in two schools situated in the Gauteng Province and the results include both boys and girls' performances in the reading and listening comprehension tests. The dataset shows that there were 84 learners that were tested and the results drawn from the dataset were used to address all the research questions.
