Teachers’ experiences of the Bachelor of Education Honours, learner support
The data of this qualitative phenomenological study was presented for the publication of a research dissertation. The purposive and conveniently selected participants enrolled in the BEd Honours (Learning Support) distance education programme participated in the data collection. In adherence to ethical requirements from the University of Pretoria, the data collection process involved telephonic semi-structured interviews of eight participants.
The data was analysed using a thematic data analysis method and a software called AtlasTi 8. Codes were generated and themes were formed from the sub-themes of the study. The data provided four themes and pseudonyms of participants were utilized in the documents in accordance to ethical research guidelines.
