Teachers' learning through post-lesson reflection in Lesson Study, how they conduct post-lesson reflection, and how do they develop and improve themselves professionally within Lesson Study
The study investigated the learnings gained by teachers who are involved in lesson study as they engage in post-lesson reflection/discussion each time after the lesson has been taught. The data uploaded contains transcripts of lesson presentations by the teachers, lesson observation tools, semi-structured interviews held with teachers, and post-lesson reflection discussions that teachers held after each lesson. Hence, the data was collected using video recordings, which were transcribed; lesson observation tools completed by the teachers and researcher; and interview sessions. The video-recorded lessons were transcribed into words. The data was analysed using qualitative methods of identifying themes and sub-themes that emerged from the data. Qualitative methods of analysing data were used because the researcher analysed written statements and not numeric data. Common trends were identified and captured in numerous excerpts through which meanings and interpretations were inferred. These were done in all the identified themes and were used to arrive at the research findings and discussions.
