Genetic diversity of the Encephalartos eugene-maraisii complex using intersimple sequence repeats fingerprinting

Analysis of the genetic diversity amongst critically endangered and endangered members of the Encephalartos eugene-maraisii Species Complex of South Africa. Genetic distances between individuals were computed using the absence or presence of ISSR bands. Figures show the distinct separation of some species supports the taxonomic singularity of these species. The taxonomic singularity of E. nubimontanus and E. cupidus is, however, put to question as these groups are less distinct.
