Light-harvesting complex II (LHCII) aggregation studied by combining fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and time-correlated single-photon counting

Data analysis figures of studies into the aggregation of the main photosynthetic antenna, Light-Harvesting Complex II (LHCII). This involved combining fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) and time-correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC) to investigate the changes in size of LHCII at different stages of detergent removal from aqueous buffer solutions. This allowed for simultaneously measuring hydrodynamic radii, by applying the Stokes-Einstein relation to diffusion times obtained from FCS analysis, and fluorescence lifetimes of LHCII aggregates at different stages of aggregation. The data figures show the steps in this methodology, as well as extra analyses of LHCII aggregation, namely using an alternative framework for FCS analysis and a study of two different methods with which LHCII aggregates can be prepared.
