This is data that was analysed for my dissertation titled 'Molecular characterisation and assessment of evolution of the HIV-1 polymerase gene during early and chronic HIV-1 infection'. The same data was used for a journal article titled 'Deep sequencing of the HIV-1 polymerase gene for characterisation of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte epitopes during early and chronic disease stages' published on Virology Journal volume 19, Article number: 56 (2022)

The dataset included data on prediction of HIV-1 pol CTL epitopes and data on using sequence diversity and Shannon entropy for identifying recent infections.
