South African Grade 9 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) with bullying items and science achievement scores
This study investigated the association between bullying and Grade 9 science achievement in South African schools. The South African Grade 9 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2019 dataset available on the IEA TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center repository (https://timssandpirls.bc.edu/) has been uploaded unaltered here with the exception that any variables unrelated to this study have been removed. All TIMSS 2019 ID variables have also been removed. Thus, this data file contains the five plausible science achievement values, the predictors and the weighting variables. The data file should be opened using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
Additional note:
No permission was needed to analyse the TIMSS 2019 data, as the database is available for public use on the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA)’s website (Fishbein et al., 2021). https://timssandpirls.bc.edu/timss2019/international-database/
