This qualitative data is aimed at exploring collaboration between the Dutch Reformed Church and church-affiliated social welfare organisations in order to alleviate poverty striken communities. The data was collected through eight semi-structured interviews and were recorded, transcribed, translated to English (from Afrikaans), and captured in verbatim records. Open coding was then done using Atlas.ti which is a computer-based qualitative data analysis program. The semi-structured interview questions predicted six themes. Atlas.ti created six maps that each captured the reaction of respondents, revealing data for qualitative analysis.
