The following datasets form part of a thesis for a PhD in Nursing Science. A concept analysis using Walker Avant's 8 step method was used to develop a concept definition and its related attributes. Various databases were searched, PubMed, Ebsco Host, Wiley Online Library and Google Scholar. Search was conducted between May and December 2021. A PRISMA flow chart shows the selection of included studies in the review. A matrix on an Excel spreadsheet was used for the results matrix on all publications included in the final literature review. A method of coding was then used to organize the literature and determine the characteristics of the concept and the variables. A modified online Delphi study was done to reach consensus on the developed concept definition and its related attributes. A four-point Likert scale was used. Three rounds was conducted over a period of 15 weeks. Thematic analysis of the qualitative responses was done with a consensus response rate of more that 80%.

A scoping review was conducted according to the Johanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology for scoping reviews. The results were reported using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis extension for Scoping Reviews checklist (PRISMA-ScR). An initial search using MEDLINE (PubMed) was conducted. For the full electronic search strategy conducted on MEDLINE (PubMed). Followed by searching the CINAHL (EBSCO) and Scopus databases. Although we planned to search Web of Science, we did not search Web of Science because most studies were duplicate studies found on both CINAHL (EBSCO) and Scopus. Lastly, a search for organizations that publish clinical practice guidelines, namely the National Institute of Health, American College of Physicians, the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, the Australian Medical Association, and the British Medical Association and the reference lists of included studies were searched for additional studies. Searches were conducted between January 29 and May 31, 2023. All reports were uploaded into Mendeley reference management software 2022 (Mendeley Ltd, Elsevier, New York). All full text citations were uploaded into Rayyan (2022) to collaboratively review the literature by three people.
